Entandrophragma Cylindricum | Other names: Aboudikro, Libuyu, Muyovu, Sapelli, Penkwa, Sapelii

Distribution: Central, West East Africa rain forests, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Zaire, Uganda and Tanzania --- General Characteristics: The heartwood is pink when freshly cut, but it matures to a medium to dark red-brown. Fine grain and moderately interlocked or wavy. The texture is fine and the luster is high and golden --- Workability: Sapele works easily with hand and machine tools. It saws easily, nails well, it sands satisfactorily and can be finished without problems --- Durability: Sapele is durable with a moderate dimensional stability --- Uses: flooring, furniture, turnery, paneling, decorative plywood, cabinets.
